Frequently Asked Questions

What is the College Transitions program?

  • The State of Maine provides grants for a college preparation program in each of her counties.   While designs are a bit different each program provide services to prepare Maine adults for post secondary education.
  •  The Hancock County College Transitions program has two semesters starting in September and February.   All courses are scheduled for Tuesdays from 8:30am-4:30pm at the Hancock County Higher Education Center in the rear of the Mill Mall at 240 State Street in Ellsworth.   There is an admissions process that starts with a meeting with one of our student advisors, Ander Thebaud (422-4794) or Laura Bryant (422-4794.)
  • Our College Transitions program is available at no cost to students thanks to a grant from the State of Maine and in kind support from University of Maine and the Maine Educational Opportunity Center.
