Families at Work  Anyone who has been a parent knows that parenting is a full time job.    We believe everyone wants the best for their children and has the ability to reach their own potential.  As parents we all need support sometimes to advocate for our children, share tips about parenting and finding resources for ourselves and our children.    We are currently accepting families into our program with children younger than 8 and a parent who wants to improve English Language skills, reading, writing, math and/or continue their education, whether it's building the basics, getting a high school credential or preparing for college or the world of work.  For more information please call 422-4794, email adultedinfo@rsu24.org or stop by our Sullivan Learning Center for more information.

Adult High School Diploma & HiSET  There are two ways for an adult to get a high school credential in our communities.  Both result in a valuable diploma that opens doors to further education and satisfying career options.  Both are celebrated at a cap and gown ceremony in June!

The Adult High School Diploma gives you the chance to take up where you left off in school.  Core diploma courses are available at our Sullivan Learning Center on Tuesday and Thursday.   They are organized in two 17-week semesters.  Taking advantage of this schedule, you can earn eight credits or more in one year.   You can also receive credits for out-of-school activities including on-the-job training, work experience and community service.   Most people are a lot closer than they think!

The HiSET Diploma (previously G.E.D) offers the chance to demonstrate knowledge and skills to graduate from high school.  All students are given an assessment to determine their starting place.  The HiSET program offers orientation, pre-testing and instruction targeting specific needs.  You can prepare for the Official HiSET Test at the Sullivan Learning Center.  Testing is available daytime and evening hours by appointment.  Accommodations for the HiSET test are available for qualified individuals with a disability.   For more information contact the RSU 24 Adult Education's HiSET Chief Examiner, Ander Thebaud, at athebaud@rsu24.org or 422-4794.
