Learn the basics in electrical theory, electrical safety, and electrical code (NEC 2017) pertaining to residential wiring and load calculations. This course will teach safety and allow the student to do basic device changes (receptacles, switches, dimmers, rheostats, lamps, lighting, ceiling fans, etc.). It will not equip a student to wire a home or to even wire a branch circuit. Class includes classroom time, hands on experience and possibly, a visit to a work site.
Learn how to cook healthy food on a budget! This online no-cost, 6 session cooking class is offered in partnership with Healthy Acadia and the Ellsworth Public Library. The series offers participants an opportunity to learn about easy ways to prepare healthy, family-friendly, delicious meals and stretch food dollars. This online class offers a live, 1-hr. recipe demonstration, nutrition lessons, and tips for making the recipes of the week. Participants will receive free take-home ingredients for pick-up on Tuesdays or Wednesdays at the Ellsworth Public Library. Participants are requested to commit to all six classes in the series.
