Basket Weaving: Holiday Centerpiece

Join Sue Campbell as she teaches you to weave a basket (approximately 13"x9") using natural, red and green colored flat reed. Once your basket is finished, Audrey will instruct you on how to take freshly cut brush (balsam and fir) and transform those boughs into a festive, seasonal centerpiece using your just-created basket. It's perfect to give away for the holiday or keep and put on your holiday table.

Basket making supplies and tools provided along with liner, florist foam and brush. Students are asked to bring hand held pruners, gloves and holiday decorations.

Enjoy all the benefits of yoga from the comfort and security of a chair! Using adaptive Hatha yoga postures and techniques, we will focus on building strong foundations, proper alignment, and safe ad gentle stretching to help you feel more comfortable and confident in your own body, in class and every day. No class on 11/23 (Thanksgiving).

Here's everything to get YOU ready for your next phase of personal growth. Step aerobics using 4 or 6 inch steps or "step mats" (keeps you at ground level)...low impact to set your own intensity. Strength training with weights: meet your own needs for bone density and isolated muscle work to maintain a stronger you. Students should have their own weights, steps or step mats. 

This class meets regularly, and you can start and stop at any time.

It is recommended that you have 1-2 lb weights; wear comfortable clothes that let you move; and gym shoes to give your feet support. Always check with your doctor before beginning an exercise program.

Basket Weaving: Ornamental Woven Snowflake

Using red, natual, blue, and green reed participants will learn the art of making a 3-D woven snowflake in different sizes.

The instructor will discuss and show embellishment techniques.

Your instructor will have extra weaving supplies for purchase if students would like to make more outside of class.

Each student should bring 50 clothes pins (the type with a spring), a small bottle of Elmer’s Craft Bond quick dry glue (or any good wood glue), and a cloth to the class.

*Please bring a floor mat and 1-5 lb. weights. 

This low-impact workout allows you to work at your own pace and level. It is 50-60 minutes of simple moving, with options to add some light weights (or not), use stretch tubing for resistance training and incorporate an abdominal workout and flexibility stretches. Anyone can do this. Class meets two times a week. All levels welcome.  The drop-in fee is $7.00 each class.
