Creative Writing (Online)

Good creative writing conveys one's thoughts, ideas, and insights in an organized, well-developed, and engaging manner. Great creative writing is insightful, expressive, and inspired. Whether you want to write well, are striving for greatness, or just want to write for the fun of it, this four-week class can help you increase your self-awareness, develop your powers of observation, increase your level of concentration, and build fluency and confidence.

Participants will need a tablet, laptop or computer with a camera and a microphone, high-speed internet, and a willingness to participate in an online video conference class on Zoom. (No class 2/17.)

Welding (Session 1)

This welding class covers the basics and is for the do-it-yourself welder. Students learn about the different welding processes (oxy-acetylene, stick, M.I.G. and T.I.G.) and get hands-on experience with those techniques. See how the characteristics of metal change as we weld them, i.e. heat treating. Safety is a priority and students are instructed in safety procedures.

This course does not offer a certification in welding; however, it may be valuable in deciding a welding operation you like best or in purchasing a welder that works for you. Class size is limited to 4. *No class on 2/18.

Students should plan on purchasing a welding shirt, gloves and eye protection by the first class. Suggested stores areAirGas (Bangor and online), Matheson Gas (Bangor and online) or through Amazon. All metal supplies and helmets will be provided.
