Estate planning is the process by which we consider the transfer of wealth or other assets in order to meet a specific goal. Some common estate planning goals include protection of a spouse or disabled child, tax savings, disability planning and business succession planning, among others. Part of the planning process is assembling the appropriate documents that can help you to achieve your goals. This class will help to identify common estate planning goals, as well as to describe the typical documents that are used to achieve those goals, along with a basic review of the probate process. (No class 2/17)
